When were you at Warwick?

I did my MA in International Relations at the PaIS department in 2008-09. My tutors were Dr. Matthew Watson, Dr. Peter Ferdinand, Dr. Dominic Kelly.

Do you have any fond memories?

One year in Warwick is enough to create so many good memories to return to. I very much enjoyed our regular gatherings with fellow PaIS students. Of course, I always remember about the fruitful time spent in the libraries, where I was reading & re-reading classic texts, like E.H. Carr’s “Twenty Years’ Crisis”, trying to challenge authors’ ideas and develop my own thoughts.

Where did you live while you were at Warwick?

I lived in Lakeside residences and still remember the comfort and atmosphere there. I am clearly one of those, who enjoy living close a lake with geese and swans.

Were you a member of any societies?

I had an amazing experience with the “One World Week”. Being a part of a small team, I helped preparing a through-provoking session on my homeland, i.e. Russia

What are you doing now?

I am now working in the Global Strategy Team of the Linde Group. I am responsible for the global market intelligence processes as well as global economics & risks analysis for the Executive Board. I am happy to fully utilize the learnings gained back in Warwick. Before joining Linde, I have had a fantastic 2-year experience in the Moscow Bureau of the United Nations Development Programme.

Why did you decide to become an alumni ambassador?

University of Warwick is one of the fast-growing universities in the world. I would like to contribute to the University by further fostering its global brand and reputation in the private sector, which is very strong in Munich. I would also like to create a functioning platform for mutual support and enriching collaboration among the alumni in the heart of Bavaria.

What kind of people make up the Warwick alumni community in your area?

Munich has a quite significant number of Warwick alumni coming from all over the world. Many of them work in consultancies, industrial companies, etc. I actually even have few colleagues, who studied in Warwick.

Have you been back to Warwick recently?

Yes, I have been back to Warwick few times in the past year, and even visited the Economics Summit. Of course, I met all of my professors, checked fresh books in the library in my favorite “politics” shelves and had a look at all of the fantastic developments around the campus.
