Connections: Chris Kingston

Chris Kingston

BSc Biochemistry, 1982

I left Warwick in 1982 and took up a career in teaching. After a couple of years in Basingstoke, I became a Head of Department in a school in Nuneaton. After six years in this job and a promotion, I was headhunted to become a senior teacher at the prestigious City Technology College in Kingshurst. During this time I was directly involved in writing sections of the then new National Curriculum.

I was also able to contribute to the International Baccalaureate, writing several well regarded educational papers and helping to reform several areas of its curriculum. In 2000, I left the UK to live in The Netherlands. Here I worked in international education as well as teaching on a 'Twee Taal Onderwise ' program again helping to pioneer its introduction.

I still maintain an interest in all the areas I was involved in during my education and working career. Now I am dedicated to enjoying life in The Netherlands with my partner and dog, Rani.
