There will be two hours of lectures a week for all. For those reading the texts in Latin, there will be a further weekly one-hour text class.

Lectures will be a combination of lecturer-led delivery and class discussion. Each lecture will require students to read a prescribed amount of the set text and two pieces of crucial secondary literature.

For a subject of this range, not all the material can be presented in lectures and classes. Students should therefore expect to do the prescribed reading and to have thought sufficiently about the issues to make constructive oral contributions.
