Assessment
Assessment will consist of two assessed essays (25% each) and a 2-hour Examination in May/June 2016 (50%).
Assessed Essays
All students are required to produce TWO essays during the module (length 2,500 words, including footnotes, but excluding bibliography. You must give a word count on the cover sheet.
Deadlines
• First assessed essay: 12noon, Tuesday 8 December 2015.
• Second assessed essay: 12noon, Monday 7 March 2016.
Exam
In the exam, students taking the Latin option will be required to answer two questions from Section A of the paper and one question from Section B. All other students are required to answer three questions from Section B.
Section A: each question requires you to translate and comment on one of two passages of Latin from the texts prescribed.
Section B: consists of a range of essay titles on specific set texts, a combination of two set texts or on a theme encompassing a number of set texts.
