Term 3 and exams

Person reading a book

Hi everyone, this week I’d like to share a bit about the final term of the academic year (Term 3) and also, exam season.

In my experience, all my modules completed their content in Term 2. So, if I did have any lectures or seminars during the first few weeks, they would be geared towards exam revision. This gives you a lot more time to prepare for your exams. You should also note that not all exams are held in Term 3. For example, the Economic Principles of GSD was held at the beginning of Term 2. This was helpful for me as it spread out my exams well.

Exams are usually held at the sports hall but there are alternative exam arrangements available for students who may need special arrangements. There are also other forms of support, adjustments, and exceptions available which you can find out more about here.

There are many study spaces available whether it is on-campus or off-campus for you to do your revision. There is a range of spaces according to the study environment that suits you best whether that is a quiet spot for self-study or for a group study session. A lot of the rooms usually used for seminars and lectures become available as study spaces that you can book ahead of time or just use if it is available.

Exam season can be quite a stressful time for a lot of students. Fortunately, Warwick University provides student support and wellbeing services to cope with the stress, especially during this time. The Student Union clubs and societies or even the Wellbeing Support Services organise activities to help students de-stress such as painting or having support dogs for you to pet and spend some time with.

Within the GSD Department itself, you have the Directors of Student Experience and your personal tutors at your disposal to help guide you through the exam season.

I hope this helps give you an idea of what to expect during Term 3 and exams. If there are any questions that come to mind when reading this blog post, please do reach out to us. Have a great week ahead!
