This resource bank is primarily aimed at academic researchers who wish to explore different approaches to monitoring and evaluation to support the impact of their research.
It is continuously being updated with new material and comments. Where we have provided mini-reviews, they are based on our understanding of the subject matter and are framed within three goals:
- Meaningful interpretation and monitoring of a project in terms of its contribution to a global development framework, such as the SDGs
- Collaborative and dialogical monitoring and evaluation that results in meaningful methodologies which lead to transformation (as opposed to, for example, an uncritical combination of indicators which might be separated from the local village, city or neighbourhood context in which the project is implemented)
- Equitable transnational project partnerships
The objective is to provide a general idea of the concepts and to support decisions regarding any further reading.
