Liberal Arts With Global Sustainable Development
The United Nations describes Global Sustainable Development (GSD) as ‘development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’ (Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development: Our Common Future, 1987). Studying Liberal Arts With Global Sustainable Development will empower you to critically evaluate the proposed solutions for safeguarding environmental, social, and economic wellbeing. Moreover, you'll examine the complex impacts and consequences of these solutions at a deep critical level.
Why study the GSD route?
In your Liberal Arts modules, you will consider the big questions concerning truth and knowledge, the communication of environmental science, and health and global sustainability as public and social issues. These topics will complement what you will study in your GSD modules as you explore questions of social, environmental, and ecological sustainability.
Liberal Arts With GSD offers the unique opportunity to consider such questions from a transdisciplinary approach whilst confronting environmental issues from a diverse range of perspectives. You can also take advantage of our SCFS Venice Programme that focusses on complex Sustainability problems in Venice and around the world.
