Neurodiversity Staff Training

The WIHEA Neurodiversity Network worked with the Students' Union and the Dean of Students to develop and deliver neurodiversity training to staff and students. This training helps raise awareness of neurodiversity and improve understanding of how to support neurodivergent people. Recent training sessions focused on:

1. Introduction to Neurodiversity and HE: Practice and Policy​
​2. Creating a Neuro-Inclusive Curriculum (UDL) and Creating Neuro-Inclusive Classroom Practices​
3. Neurodiversity and the Student Experiences (course rep, departments and inclusive education) ​
​4. Leading Transformational Change through Partnership (pedagogical research and initiatives)​
​5. Neurodivergent PGR academic and student experience​

Event: Neurodiversity Awareness Week

Date and Time: 12th March, all day

Location: Library

Activities in the library to raise awareness and celebrate neurodiversity

Event: Neurodiversity Network Launch

Date and Time: 19th March, 1pm - 3pm

Location: Teaching Grid

The network will bring together staff and students with an interest in neurodiversity, aiming to enhance understanding and support for neurodiverse individuals within the university community. The event will feature an introduction to the network and the previous work of the WIHEA Neurodiversity learning circle. Attendees will learn about the network's ethos, which emphasises lived experience, the social model of disability, and an affirmative approach to neurodiversity
