Stephen Brown wins Cruickshank Prize 2023
PhD student,
Stephen Brown
awarded BCA Cruickshank Prize 2023
For the second year running, PhD student Stephen Brown (Pike Group) has been recognised by the British Crystallography Association for great scientific communication.
Stephen received the Cruickshank Prize at the British Crystallography Association Spring Meeting in April for their talk and poster titled “Photochemical Single Crystal to Single Crystal Transformations of Titanium-oxo cluster”.
This builds on success from last year’s conference, where Stephen won the Physical Crystallography Group (PCG) Solid State Chemistry Poster Prize for "Synthesis, Structural Determination, and Photochemical Properties of Cerium-oxo Clusters".
Stephen said of the experience,
"It was exciting to be able to present this work at the BCA conference, especially the discussions I was able to have with fellow researchers. I would like to say thanks for the great support from people at the University of Warwick and from our collaborators."
Dr Seb Pike added,
"Very well done to Stephen for representing the Pike Group so well with a great talk and poster, and a big thank you to David Walker and Jere Tidey for crystallography support!"
Congratulations to Stephen on continuing to impress the BCA!
