Prof Matthew Gibson was invited to attend the Royal Society’s Science of COVID conference this week. An invitation-only event, Matt was one of 100 invitees from Government, Industry, Policy, Media and Academia to celebrate the scientific response to the pandemic and to demonstrate the importance of a strong life sciences sector. Speakers included Prof Chris Whitty, Professor Özlem Türeci from BioNtech and many more. Matt was invited in recognition of his teams work with Iceni Glycoscience on unravelling the role of glycans in SARS-COV-2 and the development of new diagnostic tools for future pandemics.
