A Salters’ Graduate Award goes to Mantas

Mantas Drelingas

wins a Salters' Graduate Award 2022

Congratulations go to MChem Finalist, Mantas Drelingas, who has been awarded a Salters’ Institute Graduate Award.

Graduate Awards are for final-year undergraduate students studying chemistry and chemical engineering across the UK.

Mantas was able to demonstrate excellent intellectual ability, a deep interest in chemistry and its impact on society, potential in leadership, an ability to work as part of a team, and the skills and attributes to become a future leader in his chosen field. His £1,000 award was presented at the Institute Awards Ceremony, held at Salters Hall, London, in December 2022. Mantas said:

"I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded Salters’ Graduate Award. This award is tightly associated with Warwick University and highlights great development opportunities that I received and dedicated mentors and supervisors that I have met during my undergraduate studies, in both Chemistry and WMG departments. I would, as well, like to thank the department for nominating me and TE Connectivity for having me as an industrial placement student.

I hope this award opens new avenues and helps me to further work and contribute to the chemical sciences industry."

Head of the Department of Chemistry, Prof Mike Ward added:

‘We are delighted that Mantas’ academic brilliance, as well as his excellence at laboratory work and a highly successful industry placement during his third year, have combined to give him this recognition which he richly deserves.’
