Warwick provides an outstanding research environment for chemistry (top 10 in the UK), which explains why 100% of our assessed research activity - including published outputs as well as impact case studies - is considered to be internationally excellent or world-leading (3* or 4*). This reflects the quality of the facilities and infrastructure available to our researchers, the supportive and inclusive working environment in which we foster excellence from early-career researchers as well as research leaders, and our highly collaborative ethos.

The combination of research quality and staff complement means that the Department is ranked 9th for “research power” in the UK in the Times Higher Education REF2021 tableLink opens in a new window. This aggregation of two independent metrics (quality and size) provides a measure of the overall ability of a department to produce high-quality research.
