Conferences

January 2008

I have attended a group conference, where I participated by giving a short presentation outlining the research I am undertaking. The conference took place in Northern Ireland at the Giants Causeway, which proved to be a beautiful setting even in the depths of winter.

March 2009

The sixth floor Chemistry lab took a short break to the Welsh-English border to discuss each group members recent advances in their research and the direction the group as a whole has been and should be taking. I was asked to give a presentation on my research which was responded too by suggestions on how to improve and where to go next, which made the entire trip a huge success.

April 2009

I attended the 2nd Midlands Biophysics Symposium which took place at the University of Nottingham. This was a one day event which had talks on the recent advances in biophysical techniques. I did not participate in the day myself, however, but I did find the talks interesting.

July 2009

I attended the European Biophysics Congress Genoa (EBSA) which took place in Genoa, Italy, from the 11th till the 15th July. The talks focused on biophysical techniques to explore biological molecules such as proteins and DNA. The city proved to be a beautiful location for the conference, with the first day and registration taking place at the Palazzo Ducale (roughly translated to be the Dukes Palace). I participated in the conference by providing a poster which was displayed on the 13th July.
