CD standards

In collaboration with Starna UK and Jasco UK we have developed new standards for circular dichroism spectroscopy. We are currently testing the prototype calibration kits and we expect them to be commercially available within the next few months.

Analysis of clathrin assembly using DLS (Joe Jones)

The aim of this projecect is to analyse the mechanism of clathrin cage assembly (and disassembly) using experimental methods, statistical analysis of experimental results and the development of mathematical models. The main method used here is Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS).

LD for membrane proteins (Praveen Amarasinghe)

The aim of this project is to develop methods for measurement and interpretation of structural data on membrane proteins in lipid vesicles using linear dichroism (LD). Praveen currenlty focuses on development of microfluidic devices and fluid dynamic simulations.

Determination of trace impurities in formulated materials (James Teahan)

The aim of this project is to develop new methodologies to look at trace impurities in formulated products. This project is sponsored by Pfizer.
