Our group studies the ultrafast dynamics of excited states in nature-inspired molecules using gas-phase time resolved ion yield and velocity map ion imaging spectroscopies along with solution-phase transient electronic and vibrational absorption spectroscopies.

18.06.14 - Ed and Mitch's paper gets accepted
Ed and Mitch's paper 'Solvent induced conformer specific photochemistry of guaiacol' gets accepted in the journal Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics. This marks the first time-resolved solution phase paper to emerge from our group in collaboration with groups at Heriot-Watt and Bristol. Congratulations all!
22.05.14 - Jamie and Mick's paper gets accepted
Jamie and Mick's paper 'Towards understanding photodegradation pathways in lignins: The role of intramolecular hydrogen bonding in excited states' gets accepted in the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters. This paper resulted from a wonderful collaborative effort between the Universities of Purdue, Bristol and Warwick and Polo Scientifico e Tecnologico dell’Universitá di Firenze, Dipartimento di Chemica!
