Ryan Corbyn

I graduated my Master’s degree in physics with a first class honours degree from Loughborough University in the summer of 2017. During my final year, I began searching for PhD positions related to Condensed Matter Physics and through my search I became aware of the positions that the Diamond Science and Technology CDT were advertising. I was lucky enough to be accepted for the position investigating the use of Nano-diamond for the imaging of neural structures. The applications of physics to the medical sector has always been something that has interested me, so this position is ideal for my area of interest. This coupled with the additional industrial and professional links that arise through studying with the Diamond Science and Technology CDT made this position too good to miss.

PhD Title: Nanodiamond as an Optically Robust Fluorophore for Targeted Imaging of Neural Structures
PhD Supervisor: Dr Brian Patton
Institution: University of Strathclyde
