Synopsis of research: The behaviour of various luminescence in diamond, including photoluminescence, phosphorescence and thermoluminescence is studied by a self-built optical detection equipment which works at a temperature range of 83 K to 873 K. Multiple techniques such as PL, FTIR, UV-Vis, Raman, EPR is employed to explore different defects in terms of the concentration, charge state and the dynamics of charge transfer, which is useful for figuring out the mechanism of the long-lived luminescence process in natural and synthetic diamond.
