Postdoc position at the University of Wisconsin

I anticipate an opening for a postdoc starting this fall on a project exploring new approaches chemical detection and chemical imaging using shallow Nv centers in single-crystal diamond.

The grant is a collaboration between myself (a chemist), 2 physicists (Prof. Mark Eriksson and Prof. Susan Coppersmith), and an electrical engineer (Prof. Mikhail Kats). The ideal candidate would have a strong background in optics (ideally custom-built optics) and instrumentation, and an interest in collaborating with students and faculty with complementary expertise in diamond surface chemistry and surface functionalization, nanofabrication, and meta-optics on a team-based project funded by the US National Science Foundation.

All research is to be carried out at the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, WI.

Madison is frequently rated among the best cities to live in the US, with a high education level, diverse population, and modest cost of living.

The Department of Chemistry at UW-Madison is routinely ranked among the top 10 chemistry departments in the US.
