About the event

The one-day conference aimed to provide a platform for an in-depth exploration of innovative solutions and strategies that enable the building of a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient future. The University of Warwick's School of Engineering, in collaboration with the Sustainable Cities Global Research Priorities programme, invited academics and industry leaders to participate in the conference on "Engineering and Science for Deeply Uncertain Times."

During the conference, the significance of modern, innovative pedagogical approaches in the delivery of engineering education globally was addressed. The focus was on identifying and overcoming inherent barriers in quality, knowledge organisation, content, and hierarchy to support the advancement of emerging skills and capacity-building required to equip engineers of the future.

About the organisers

The Enhance Project, funded by the European Commission and based at the School of Engineering, is a transformative global initiative that aims to modernise engineering education by introducing innovative pedagogy, tackling barriers to quality, and fostering the development of emerging skills.

The Sustainable Cities Global Research Priorities (GRPs) programme, a supporter of the Enhance Project, is dedicated to addressing complex global urban challenges through research excellence. The program brings together experts from various disciplines to tackle some of humanity's most pressing issues, ultimately working to improve the lives of people worldwide.

This conference was also funded by Enhancing Research Cultures Programme at the University of Warwick.
