The Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2015

Even if an applicant doesn’t win, the application process mirrors that of a graduate scheme so this will be a great chance for your students to practice the skills required to excel at an assessment centre

Here is a summary of the 4 awards:

Second year students who are not graduating until at least 2016.

Any

10 week summer internship with Rolls-Royce, including 1 to 2 weeks at a European office and the opportunity to shadow a female senior manager for the day. Other prizes include an Apple iPad as well as Rolls Royce branded gifts.

Low Carbon Energy

Penultimate and final year students

Chemistry, physics, control and instrumentation engineering, environmental science, materials science, metallurgy, sustainability or other related degrees

Internship with EDF Energy, lunch with a station director and a visit to a nuclear power station in France.

Engineering

2nd year of a 3 or 4 year undergraduate course

Mechanical or electrical engineering

48 week placement with E.ON and a long weekend for 2 to visit a key European project.

Construction, Engineering and Design

Penultimate year students

Construction, civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering

All expenses paid international summer work placement with Laing O’Rourke.

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.
