Warwick PPE society - TALK

Mr Zeldin has asked us to invite people from a variety of academic disciplines to join him for dinner after his talk (which will be at 6:30pm) in the spirit of The Oxford Muse, a foundation that he set up to 'Stimulate courage and invention in personal, professional and cultural life'. The society is built on Theodore’s study of history which he believes 'was ruled by etiquette and superficial chat.'
During the meal you will be given a menu of conversation topics with ideally... a stranger. The conversations typically become animated and memorable. You get to know a stranger very well, and find that you learn a lot about yourself too, in discussing such topics as ambition, curiosity, fear, friendship, the relations of the sexes and of civilisations. One participant said he would never again give a dinner party without this Muse Menu. Another said he had in just two hours made a friend who was closer than many he had known much longer!!!
To find out more about The Oxford Muse and these original dinners follow this link: http://www.oxfordmuse.com/?q=conversation-dinners
Along with the menu of conversation topics, there will be a meal for all of you which is largely being paid for by the PPE Society, but an additional £5 from each of you would ensure a good quality meal for 50 people!
This is a very rare opportunity, hardly ever are you invited to have dinner with a famous author in the style of The Oxford Muse. So if you would like to attend, please reply with your full name ASAP to warwickppe@gmail.com.
The first 50 will be emailed letting them know they are on the guest list. Once on the guest list, make sure you come, as we will be fined if people UNEXPECTANTLY DO NOT TURN UP on the day!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Emergency and Support Links

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.

If you're struggling but it's not an emergency, please contact Wellbeing.

If you are a parent or guardian there is more information on what to do if you have concerns: warwick.ac.uk/services/wss/parents/#concern.
