SIAM Warwick Student Chapter.
Welcome to the start of a very exciting year for the SIAM Warwick Student Chapter. The chapter was set up last year with aim of promoting interest in industrial and applied mathematics as well as strong collaborations between students in different departments. We also provide opportunities to meet employers who want people with your skills! Best of all, membership is free!! For details of how to join head to our website (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/maths/postgrad/siamstudentchapter/) for more details. Joining the chapter means you can have free membership of SIAM http://www.siam.org/
We have several events planned for this term. The first of which is a series of talks on "The most fun thing about my research", where PhD students from MOAC, maths and complexity will present what they think is the most fun thing about their work in an informal environment. The talks will be held at 4pm on Thursday 11th October in D1.07 (the seminar room in the complexity area of the Zeeman building). We'll most probably be heading to the pub afterwards too.

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.
If you're struggling but it's not an emergency, please contact Wellbeing.
If you are a parent or guardian there is more information on what to do if you have concerns: warwick.ac.uk/services/wss/parents/#concern.
