Green Steps @ Warwick Sustainability training and internship
What is Green Steps?
Green Steps is an award-winning sustainability educational programme at Monash University, which has been running since 2000. The programme combines training and an internship to bridge the gap between knowledge acquired at university and the skills required to create environmental change. It provides a hands-on, practical approach to learning which values and builds on the knowledge of participants. Over 600 students from 8 Australian universities have completed Green Steps, working in partnership with over 450 organisations.
What are the aims of the programme?
The Green Steps @ Warwick programme aims to provide you with:
•Skills and knowledge to be effective change agents within organisations;
•Increased confidence and effective approaches to operating in a professional context;
•Experience and opportunities within the environment sector.
We assume you have a basic understanding of environmental issues, and a desire to work within organisations to create change. The programme is open to all Warwick students, except for finalists, and you do not have to be studying environmental issues as part of your studies. Green Steps focuses on the first things to consider when you walk into an organisation, and how to create change through day-to-day interactions, communication and behaviour change.

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.
If you're struggling but it's not an emergency, please contact Wellbeing.
