Industrial Placement Opportunity for Students

We are now looking for a three students to join our organisation on Industrial Placements as Assistant Engineers within our Energy and Development Services team. Two to be located in Bristol and one in Glasgow. GL Garrad Hassan offers Industrial Placements to students as part of a ‘sandwich’ course where a year in industry is required. The length of placement we offer varies and is usually for a period of twelve months, with the minimum being nine months. These are often referred to as “a year in industry” and are positions where the students are paid a wage whilst with the company.

We are looking for anyone who is keen to support engineers undertaking technical analysis of onshore and offshore wind farms at the pre-construction stage of development. As part of the role, the student will be applying mathematical models and techniques and work on various aspects of an assessment to help produce detailed results for clients to enable them to decide upon the feasibility of developing the site as a wind farm. More specifically, the student will be involved in wind data processing and quality checking, correlation analysis, wind flow and wake modelling, and statistical analysis. This type of role would suit anyone from an Engineering, Science, Maths or Physics based background and will add practical work experience to their degree. Many of our placements enjoy it so much that they often come back as Graduates in the years that follow.

Please see the attached Link http://careers.gl-garradhassan.com/vacancies/Europe-UK-Bristol-Assistant-Engineer-Energy-and-Development-Services-Industrial-Placement.html for more information about the role. I have also attached a flyer that you may wish to distribute to those in your classes. Please note that our close date is 1st April (next week) which is why we would greatly appreciate any immediate assistance you could offer.
