| OVERVIEW & AIMS | |
|
Students are being given an opportunity to take their first step into a career through a competition run by Europe's leading radiocommunications company.
ATDI is inviting undergraduates and postgraduates to design a 4G mobile network based on the use of Femtocells
. The winner will be given an apprenticeship with ATDI at one of their global offices. "It is the most fantastic opportunity for somebody to take the most difficult step on the career ladder - the first," comments ATDI managing director Peter Paul. "Not only that but they will also learn first-hand from experts in the field as well as getting great experience just by tackling the competition."
This international competition offers students the opportunity to acquire hands on experience designing a 4G network with real-time data. Participants will have access to ATDI's state of the art radio planning tool ICS designer, plus associated cartography (3D mapping for France in HR 20m resolution, plus the main French cities in HR 1m and access to a database of existing 2G/3G spots).
Competitors can choose between two network deployment approaches:
Each completed project will include a section describing the maximum throughput expected in the 4G network (UL and DL) and associated conditions.
