Rewarding. Challenging. Teaching

With an engineering degree, you’re in the unique position of being able to teach a selection of subjects. As well as having the option of Maths, Physics or Chemistry Initial Teacher Training (ITT) courses (depending on the content of your degree), you could also choose the Physics with Mathematics ITT course (if you find that if you can’t choose between your favourite subjects).
Getting into teaching has never been more rewarding. For starters, did you know that right now you could receive a tax-free bursary of up to £20k* to train as a maths, physics or chemistry teacher? Then, once you qualify, you would start on a salary of at least £21k (£27k in London).
Furthermore, if you have the potential to be an exceptional teacher, you could receive a scholarship from the Institute of Mathematics (IMA), Institute of Physics (IOP) or Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) of up to £25k (paid instead of the standard bursary).
There are many routes to train to become a teacher, you can choose between university-led or school-led options and we can help you decide which is the best option for you.
Applications for teacher training in 2014/2015 are now open.
Register now via the Get into Teaching website to receive more information and a comprehensive programme of support, providing help and guidance throughout the application process.

Emergency and Support Links

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.

If you're struggling but it's not an emergency, please contact Wellbeing.

If you are a parent or guardian there is more information on what to do if you have concerns: warwick.ac.uk/services/wss/parents/#concern.
