HowCloud: An Innovative Volunteering Opportunity

What is HowCloud?

We are a new tech-based social enterprise, revolutionising student volunteering and want you to be a part of it. HowCloud is an online learning platform connecting school pupils with university students.
The pupil posts a question about GCSE Maths, which is then answered by a university student using our online audiovisual platform where you construct an answer using whiteboards and other tools. The question can be answered wherever you want, whenever you want – all you need is a computer or tablet device. Answering a question can take as little as 15 minutes and makes a huge difference to a pupil.
Who might be interested?
Students who get satisfaction out of teaching. We will even pay for you to take relevant qualifications if you're interested, but this is not a requirement.
Students who want to build their communications skills – being able to explain concepts to school pupils is a great start to explaining abstract concepts at university and beyond.
Students who want more experience for their CV: this is a great opportunity for you to demonstrate your presentation skills, and we will accredit all our tutors.
Students who can spare 15 minutes a week to help struggling school pupils.

Emergency and Support Links

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.

If you're struggling but it's not an emergency, please contact Wellbeing.

If you are a parent or guardian there is more information on what to do if you have concerns: warwick.ac.uk/services/wss/parents/#concern.
