Senior Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer

As part of our project to continue delivering and improving innovative floor care solutions we are looking for talented individuals to shape our cutting edge Quality department. We are looking for Senior Quality Engineers and Quality Engineers.

As a Quality Engineer you will be working with the New Product Development team, at the forefront of improving quality through design and testing. You will be creating design standards and key in supporting new product launches applying such quality techniques as required to ensure that the products bought and supplied into the market meet Vax, national & international standards and specifications. You will be part of a new business initiative for Vax which will ensure continued growth & profitability. This is a ‘hands on’ role that welcomes dynamic individuals.

We are looking for candidates that ideally have knowledge of and can apply modern quality techniques but more importantly have a good all round engineering knowledge. You will be able to break down and analyse to component level numerous sub assemblies and components made from various materials to determine root cause of failures. In addition, there will be an expectation to work with various departments to improve testing methods and improve product quality.

An HNC or mechanical qualification is required with excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills. It is essential that the successful candidate is proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, please contact the University 24-hour Community Safety line: +44 (0)2476 522083. Community Safety operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.
