I’m sure that a large proportion of you have been engaging with the employer events that have been provided as part of the central Festival of Careers 2020 over the last few weeks. I wanted to bring to your attention a number of events that are taking place in the coming weeks, the most relevant of which being the ‘Options in Engineering’ event this Wednesday 28 Oct 6.30-8.30pm.

CDK Dealer Tech Competition
The CDK Dealer Tech university automotive competition is nearly here!
You can still sign-up to the kick-off day taking place via Zoom at 3pm on Friday 23rd October here. [I am told that you can still sign up for other sessions if you have missed this one and it will be recorded to watch back!]
The competition is an opportunity for student teams to develop a technology product idea that can make a difference to the automotive retail industry. Launched by tech solution provider CDK Global, there is the opportunity for teams to win £3,000 in the university competition with winning teams having the chance of winning a further £10,000 in a national final taking place in May next year.
To help prepare teams ahead of building ideas, CDK Global is also launching 3 masterclass sessions to run shortly after the launch day. These are run by experts at CDK and will provide you with the tools to build a successful product idea. Please register for these 1 hour sessions using the links below:

Virtual STEM Fair 2020 - Thu 22 Oct 11am – 4pm
The new Virtual STEM Careers Fair is a must-visit for any student seeking a career within the STEM industry. Come along and discover employment opportunities including graduate schemes and jobs, placements and internships within the industry. Meet with employers in one-to-one meetings or in a virtual drop-in room, with recruiters on hand to talk to you about their recruitment processes and available opportunities.

We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you virtually to our Autumn Careers Fair tomorrow! The event is held online via our App – don’t forget to visit Career Fair Plus, either online via https://app.careerfairplus.com/uw_uk or download the app through the app store (search Career Fair Plus) in advance of the Fair tomorrow.
Once you have downloaded the App you will be able to book meetings with employers who will be delighted to talk about their opportunities. These meetings are offered on a first come first serve basis so book today to ensure you are able to speak to representatives. Remember its worth taking the time to book meetings or talk to employers you may not have considered as well – in the same way as you would browse employers at a physical fair, employers will be happy to speak to you informally so please do meet them all!
