Rowan Pearce
It is with great sadness that the University and its School of Engineering reports the death of undergraduate student Rowan Pearce on Thursday 12th December 2013. Rowan was studying the third year of his BEng degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
He was an intelligent and hardworking student “who will be remembered for his enthusiasm, cheerfulness and infectious smile” said his project supervisor, Howard Neal. His personal tutor, Yongmann Chung, added that “Rowan was always a kind and considerate student; he touched the lives of those close to him and will be sorely missed by all who knew him”. Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift, said “I know that this news will bring great sadness to a great many people as Rowan was a popular student who had many friends within the School and the wider university.”
Our thoughts are with Rowan’s family and friends at this time. He will be sadly missed.
University staff and support professionals are working to support those students who were close to Rowan. If you would like to speak to someone at this time, there are a number of support services available. The Student Support Services website gives more details or you can contact Student Support on 024 76 575570.
A book of condolence will be available at the start of term.

Transfer between BEng and MEng
Second year students wishing to transfer from a four year (MEng) degree to a three year (BEng/BSc) degree in order to apply for accommodation in their final year should apply to transfer by the end of week 7 at the latest. These transfers will then be processed by the School of Engineering during week 8.
First and second year transfers from a three year (BEng/BSc) degree to a four year (MEng) degree will normally be processed at the end of the academic year based on academic performance and as part of the course and module registration process, however if students have specific issues in relation to applying for internships then earlier requests for transfer will be considered.
Please use the form to request a transfer.
