- 9 exciting modules which are now available to you as a co-curricular option. This will not count as credit towards your degree but will show on your HEAR (UG)/ certificate will be issued (PGT/PGR).

- The programme includes four overseas residential modules in Brussels and Venice. These provide access to Turing funding, if attending a minimum of 4-weeks teaching in one location.

Placement Information Event 2020 Recording & Slides
Missed the live event on Wednesday 2 December 2020?
Hear from returning placement students about their experiences whilst on placement, as well as key application/interview processes. The Placement and Internship Officer also presented with the intention of answering questions regarding Departmental processes, fees, and the accompanying academic module.
Widening Access Programme for Energy Careers with National Grid
Generating Genius, who work to widen access to high-level STEM careers, are partnered with the National Grid on the Generating Genius and Grid for Good Talent Development Pathway, a long-term, multi-touch project for students to gain insight and develop skills to enter careers in the energy sector.
Applications for the pathway are now open! To apply for the Grid for Good Talent Development Pathway, students should complete this form.
What does the Pathway look like?
As a member of the Grid for Good pathway, you will have exclusive access to:
· Insight talks, focusing on different careers available in the energy industry
· Team Building events, including leading, networking and self-development sessions
· Upskilling workshops, including CV writing, mock interviews with National Grid employees, Challenge Days and application boot camps
· 1-to-1 Mentoring with National Grid employees
· Paid work experience opportunities with National Grid
· Graduate job opportunities, including Graduate Schemes, Apprenticeships and Internships with National Grid
We are hosting a virtual Welcome event for the pathway on 16th December 4:45-6:20 pm. This event will feature an Insight talk and Careers Panel with current National Grid employees, a valuable opportunity to learn more about career paths within the energy sector.
To be eligible for this pathway, you must be from black African or Caribbean heritage, OR have a household income of below £42,875 per annum. You must also be studying Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.

I’m sure that a large proportion of you have been engaging with the employer events that have been provided as part of the central Festival of Careers 2020 over the last few weeks. Autumn Careers Fair 2020
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you virtually to our Autumn Careers Fair tomorrow! The event is held online via our App – don’t forget to visit Career Fair Plus, either online via https://app.careerfairplus.com/uw_uk or download the app through the app store (search Career Fair Plus) in advance of the Fair tomorrow.
Once you have downloaded the App you will be able to book meetings with employers who will be delighted to talk about their opportunities. These meetings are offered on a first come first serve basis so book today to ensure you are able to speak to representatives. You will also be able to Drop in to employer rooms to speak to them informally but all activity is held through the App or the desktop link here https://app.careerfairplus.com/uw_uk
Remember its worth taking the time to book meetings or talk to employers you may not have considered as well – in the same way as you would browse employers at a physical fair, employers will be happy to speak to you informally so please do meet them all!

In the event of an emergency on campus requiring ambulance, police or fire brigade, call 22222 from an internal telephone. If you are on campus and you use a mobile to call for an emergency service (999), you should also then call 024 76 5 22222. This alerts the University Community Safety team and will enable the emergency vehicle to be speedily escorted to where it is required on the campus.
