Health and Safety (Blue) Folder

Health and safety (blue) folders have been introduced into workshops and laboratories to support the identification and development of key safety documentation, as well as acting as a central repository for health and safety information for each space. 

The contents of each folder is: 

  1. QuEMIS hazard assessment 
  2. Local rules 
  3. Induction (Staff and Students) 
  4. Emergency plans 
  5. Risk Assessments 
  6. Work equipment and facilities - inspections, checks, maintenance  
  7. Previous inspection checklists  
  8. Other relevant H&S information 

 

‘Space owners’ must identify the information in the guidance relevant to their space and ensure that appropriate documentation is in place.  

Tasks may be delegated to other persons with knowledge of the space, but responsibility ultimately lies with the designated ‘space owner’. 

Other users of multi occupancy spaces must support the space owner in completing and maintaining the health and safety folder.  

Completion of the Health and safety folders will be monitored as part of the inspection programme.
