Dr Zhenhui Yuan

Biography
I received my BEng in Software Engineering from Wuhan University, China, in 2008, and a PhD in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University, Ireland, in 2012. My research focuses on machine learning in networking and IoT. From 2012 to 2014, I was a postdoctoral researcher funded by Ericsson (Ireland), followed by a visiting scholar position at the Network Research Lab at UCLA in 2014. Between 2014 and 2015, I served as a 3GPP delegate and Senior Engineer on 5G at Huawei (Shanghai).
From 2015 to 2019, I was the co-founder and CTO of RobSense Technology, an SME specializing in UAVs and robotic swarm products, which secured over 10 million RMB in venture investment. During the same period, I was an Associate Professor at the Key Lab of RF Circuits and Systems (Ministry of Education) at Hangzhou Dianzi University, China. In 2020, I joined Northumbria University, UK, as a Senior Lecturer, and since 2023, I have been an Assistant Professor at the University of Warwick, where I lead the Connected Robotics Lab.
I have received Best Paper Awards at IEEE ICCRE 2016 and IEEE BMSB 2014. Additionally, I have served as a Leading Guest Editor for IEEE Network and IEEE IoT Journal and as an Associate Editor for IEEE ACCESS, IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, and the Journal of Pervasive Computing & Communications. I am also a voting member of IEEE P1954 on UAV communications.
