PhD studentship in Quantum Engineering of Molecular Materials for Nanoscale Energy Generation

Project Description:

The aim of the project is to exploit the quantum properties of molecular materials to discover and design new materials for energy harvesting and cooling applications. The candidate will receive broad training on computational materials modelling and gain experience with cutting-edge quantum transport simulation methods, conduct a world-class research project with high publication potential and would have an opportunity to conduct collaborative projects with internationally leading experimental groups in the UK, Europe and beyond.

Scholarship:

This fully funded scholarship will cover the tuition fees at the UK/Home rate £4,712, plus a stipend of £18,622 per annum for 3.5 years of full-time study and research training support. This PhD studentship is a part of the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship grant.

Eligibility:

Due to the scholarship rules, this is for UK students only with a first-class or 2.1 honours degree at BSc or MSc in physical science or engineering disciplines and a strong interest in computational materials modelling. Experience with molecular scale simulation is desirable but not essential.
