University safety policy requires a RISK ASSESSMENT to be completed BEFORE any work is undertaken

Currently, the three main types of assessments used are :-

RISK ASSESSMENT, often abbreviated to "RA"

SAFE SYSTEM OF WORK, abbreviated to "SSOW" - also known as SAFE OPERATING PROCEDURES or "SOP"

CONTROL OF SUBSTANCES HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH, abbreviated to "SSOW"
