Cyclic Performance of Composite Columns and I-Beams Assemblies

Concrete-filled tubular composite columns have been renowned for their enhanced ductility and rotation capacity than other types of composite column due to the concrete containment within the steel shell. To facilitate the understanding of composite construction in seismicity areas, this research aims to investigate the cyclic performance/hysteretic behaviour of composite columns and I-beams assemblies. This will be achieved by interlocking four key research components: experimental tests, theoretical derivations, numerical simulations and statistical analyses.
