PPE & Hoodie Sizing Form

Joining us in the School of Engineering in 2026? Please complete and submit the web form below by Monday 31 August 2026 in order for us to send estimate sizing quantities to our suppliers.

PLEASE NOTE: Completing this web form is solely to help us estimate the size distribution required for our order. The size you select is not a reservation. Your name and ID will not be used to allocate stock during the hand-out session.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE for lab sessions in the School of Engineering is comprised of:

  • safety boots/shoes
  • a lab coat
  • safety glasses, 'over specs' (for glasses wearers), or goggles (for glasses wearers with large framed glasses).

Please note: PPE is mantatory for timetabled lab sessions from the point of collection onwards. Students without PPE will be refused entry to lab spaces and timetabled lab sessions.

All PPE items are provided by the School of Engineering free of charge - provided they are collected during week 1 of Term 1 (the week after Welcome Week). Students who miss the PPE collection window during week 1 will be required to purchase their own PPE to our specifications as per our departmental student PPE policy.

You will be informed of the week 1 PPE collection window and the departmental student PPE policy during Welcome Week.

Hoodies

School of Engineering branded hoodies will be handed out for free to all incoming undergraduate and postgraduate taught Engineering students during Welcome Week, subject to availability. You can find details of the handout session on your Welcome timetable. Sizing will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Completing the Form

Before filling in the form, please ensure that you have enrolled and registered for your ITS account. When you are signed in, this will ensure that your name, student ID and email address are automatically captured when completing the web form.

Lab Coat & Hoodie Sizing (Chest/Bust Measurement)

Please note the sizing range available for lab coats will be XXS - 4XL. The sizing range available for hoodies will be XS - 3XL only.

Safety Shoe Sizing

Please note the sizing range available will be UK3 - UK13. If you require something outside of this range please indicate that on the form below in the comments section and we will try our best to accomodate this.


PPE & Hoodie Sizing Form


Please state your preference for safety glasses, over specs, or goggles. N.B Over specs are to be worn over prescription eyeglasses and should only be selected if you are a regular glasses wearer. Goggles will accomodate larger eyeglasses frames and so could be the best choice for individuals with large eyeglasses. (required)
Privacy notice

Data collected through this form is treated in the strictest of confidence, is not stored against any other identifiable protected characteristics or data collected by the School of Engineering associated with individuals, and will be used solely for the purposes of determining indicative PPE & hoodie sizing orders for Welcome Week 2026, after which point these submissions and associated digital copies will be securely deleted.
