Science on the Hill
We’re delighted to invite you to the first Science on the Hill event of 2026, bringing together researchers from across the University of Warwick to explore how science, agriculture and food systems can support healthier people and a healthier planet.
As average dietary intake of fresh fruit and vegetables continues to fall short of NHS “5 a day” guidance, research at Warwick is addressing how we can produce high-quality, home-grown, fresh and healthy food - sustainably, affordably and at scale.
Join us for a series of engaging talks:
· National strategies linking food, diet, behavioural change and Net Zero- Richard Napier
· British beans and local food systems – Eric Holub
· Protecting crops, protecting the environment – Rosemary Collier
· Breeding healthier crops – Lauren Chappell
· Household food security in Warwickshire – Martine Barons
🌾 The evening will explore pressures driving change in agriculture, innovations in crop breeding and protection, and a timely discussion on whether access to healthy food should be considered a right.
