Outreach events for schools
We run a fantastic range of events for secondary school pupils with an interest in mathematics – particularly those in Years 10 and 12 – and are always keen to help inspire the next generation of maths students! We also have plenty of resources both for students and for teachers, and have lots of world-leading academics who love coming to speak to young people about mathematics.

Upcoming events
Maths Art - Sat 14th Nov (1.00pm-4.00pm)
Join us on campus in our Faculty of Arts (FAB) building for free, drop-in, maths art activities. Most suitable for families with children from 5 years old and up, we will provide resources and instructions to create impressive, thought-provoking and educational structures that have a link to geometry and/or other areas of mathematics. This is very informal – turn up and have a go! Experts will be on hand to answer any questions about the mathematics involved.
Public Lecture-Patterns in animal movement - Weds 18th Nov (5.30pm-7.30pm)
This year, Professor Ian Stewart will be giving our public lecture as we join in with the celebrations for Maths Week England. Emeritus Professor here at the University of Warwick, Ian has been involved in inspiring the public with mathematics for over 50 years. Ian is known for both his mathematics research and his popular science and mathematics books. This event will incorporate a reception and the opportunity to buy Ian’s books.
Year 13 TMUA Preparation - December (5.00pm-6.30pm)
Come along to these live, online sessions where we will take questions from past TMUA papers and look at how to approach them, giving insights and tips along the way.
Mathematical Problem Solving Classes for Year 12 - January - March 2027 (4pm-6pm)
This is a suite of 10 weekly, face to face classes held in a lecture theatre at the university and delivered by experienced teachers, who are invested in equipping students as mathematical problem solvers.
Royal Institution Masterclasses - January - March 2027 (9.30am-1pm)
The Maths Institute, Statistics Department and Warwick Manufacturing Group are offering a series of masterclasses in mathematics, data science and engineering, respectively, covering years 9, 10 and 12. Maths at University-An afternoon for Year 12 - Weds 10th Feb 2027 (1pm-4pm)
Come along and experience what it's like to sit in a lecture theatre in the Maths Institute at Warwick. Find out more about maths related careers and admission tests and have the opportunity to speak to current Warwick students studying a maths degree.
Maths and Beyond - Tues 23rd March 2027 (9.30am-3.15pm)
A day of enrichment for year 10 students considering taking Maths, Further Maths or Core Maths at AS or A level.
