Zeeman Centenary
Earlier this calendar year, marked the 100th birthday of Sir Christopher Zeeman, the founder of the Mathematics Institute and Research Centre here at the University of Warwick.
To celebrate this, we are inviting members of the public to attend two open lectures*. There will be drinks available from 3.00pm in the Foyer of the Zeeman Building and the lectures start at 3.30pm.
*please note these lectures are part of a larger conference on Topology and Biology. The lecturers will make every effort to adapt the content making it both accessible to a public audience, whilst also relevant to conference attendees. Please bear this in mind.

FAQs
Q: I am a maths teacher, should I bring a group of my students along or is there a better way of them attending?
A: You are very welcome to bring a group of students along to this event, however, this is not an event aimed at schools so we will not be coordinating with the same level of support e.g. we will not be providing a risk assessment. We would suggest that you share details of this event with the parents/guardians of your students and encourage them to bring their child along as an opportunity for a maths-related outing.
Q: Will there be food provided?
A: We will provide light refreshments before the lectures start but you should plan to have any meals you need separate to this.
Q: What level of maths understanding will I need to be able to access the talks?
A: These open lectures are part of a larger conference for maths specialists in the field(s) of Topology and Biology. The lecturers are aware that we will have members of the public in attendance at these lectures and will make every effort to aim the content so that those who have a good grasp of AS level Maths (and possibly AS Level Further Maths) will be able to access the lecture.
