LMS Network in Harmonic Analysis and PDE 2007

General Information

This workshop is a one day event in Harmonic Analysis/PDE's funded in part by the LMS Scheme 3 Grant "The UK Harmonic Analysis and PDE's Research Network" and will take place at Warwick University.

Programme

There will be an informal dinner on the evening of December 2nd. All participants are welcome to attend. We will meet for drink around 6:30 at Queen & Castle (opposite the Kenilworth castle) followed by dinner at the Clarendon House around 8.(Old High Street - by the Abbey Fields). If you are planning on attending the dinner, please contact Jose Rodrigo.

All lectures will take place in Room B3.02 (Zeeman Building - Maths Dept)

10:00 - 11:00 - Wolfgang Staubach - Decay estimates for the Schrödinger evolution on asymptotically conic surfaces of revolution

11:00 - 11:30 - Coffee Break

11:30 - 12:30 - Jose Maria Martell - Calderón-Zygmund theory in absence of kernels

12:20 - 2:00 - Lunch

2:00 - 3:00 - Eugene Shargorodsky - Stokes waves, Bernoulli free boundaries, and the Riemann-Hilbert problem

3:00 - 3:30 - Tea Break

3:30 - 4:30 - Treven Wall - The Bellman Function Technique

Getting to Warwick

Details about how to get to Warwick an be found here . From Kenilworth, there are regular buses to the university.

Accommodation

Participants are invited to make their own accommodation. The most convenient location is Kenilworth. Here is some information about local hotels and B&Bs.
