Space for Thought: Looking Back to Move Forward

International Symposium on Design for Wellbeing in the Built Environment

9th/10th March 2014, Scarman, University of Warwick, Coventry.

This symposium will be limited to a selected group of invited academics, with a further event planned for policy makers and practitioners. As well as providing an opportunity to meet each other and share research findings, we will discuss and debate four main questions:

1) What do we mean by ‘wellbeing’ when it comes to the built environment?

2) What methodologies, or combinations of methods, are ideal in this field?

3) How best can we promote design for wellbeing in practice? And

4) What do we know now and what are the gaps?

Participants will arrive on Sunday afternoon, in time for dinner together, and will stay overnight on Monday after the main programme. There is no charge to attend this symposium, and we can pay reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for the two nights.
