Professor Harbinder Sandhu highly commended at Asian Women of Achievement Awards

Many congratulations to Harbinder Sandhu, Professor of Health Psychology, who has been highly commended at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards UK 2022.

The Asian Women of Achievement Awards, founded in 1999, celebrate multicultural Britain and the contribution of diverse cultures and talents to UK society. Awards are presented across 13 categories, from Arts and Culture to Technology and Digital.

Professor Sandhu was recognised in the Science category in recognition of her academic work, including research, clinical trials, teaching and her application of health psychology and behaviour change to improve health and wellbeing. The awards were presented at a ceremony in London on 16 June.

“Being amongst such amazing inspirational women across the whole awards was an honour,” Prof Sandhu says. “Massive congratulations to all the finalists and especially to the winners – I am super excited for future events, networking and helping other amazing women reach their dreams and potential.

The shortlisted finalists were invited to a round table discussion by Myles Stacey OBE, Special Advisor to the former prime minister, at Downing Street on 28 June, where they had the opportunity to share their work and network. Helen Cook, Senior Advisor (Women and Equality) was also present.
