European Working Time Directive is to improve health and safety of patients and doctors
Warwick Medical School plays key role in new centre of excellence
Researchers at the University of Warwick working with colleagues at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust have been given a Centre of Excellence Award for Hypertension and Cardio-Metabolic Research.
The award, from the European Society of Hypertension, is one of only six handed out in the UK and it highlights the groundbreaking research being carried out in the areas of blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
Professor Franco Cappuccio, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Epidemiology at Warwick Medical School, is one of the leading figures for the Centre.

The Research is presented today, Wednesday 2nd July 2008 , at the NHS National Workforce Projects Working Time Directive Exhibition ‘The Final Countdown’ at the ExCeL in London by Francesco P Cappuccio, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine & Epidemiology at the University of Warwick’s Warwick Medical School.
