The Institute for Translational Medicine is a partnership between University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) and Warwick Medical School (WMS).
Our ambition is to support the research and clinical community in translating research findings and new ideas from basic research into practical human health benefits, creating a world leading translational research facility. We work closely with research and impact support, innovations, business partnerships, NHS partners, and Industry.
We welcome conversations from prospective partners to work in collaboration to develop innovative future health solutions.
Design a Translational Roadmap
We can offer support in identifying an implementation vision for your research idea or discovery, and developing the roadmap to get there.
This may span pre-clinical work, IP protection, trials, regulatory requirements, commercialisation routes, adoption and diffusion.
Support for Researchers and Clinicians
Depending on the needs of the project and working with other innovation support functions at Warwick and our healthcare partners we can help with:
- Understanding the maturity of an idea on the translational continuum
- Identifying sources of funding, and developing funding applications
- Project management of translational work
- Building relationships with industrial collaborators
- Understanding regulatory requirements
- Identifying pathways to adoption
- Advocating with key stakeholders.
Making Connections
Implementing new ideas into practice requires a multi-disciplinary team collaborating across institutional boundaries.
With our colleagues in the Innovations and Business Partnerships team we have a growing network within the Warwick Health ecosystem.
We can help to identify and develop relationships with collaborators with the resources and experiences needed to develop ideas towards implementation.
