The SIGN Decision Support apps give practitioners and patients easy access to clinical guidance and support shared decision making on a range of clinical subjects.
SIGN objective is to improve the quality of health care for patients in Scotland by reducing variation in practice and outcome, through the development and dissemination of national clinical guidelines containing recommendations for effective practice based on current evidence.
For patients, the SIGN Patient Decision Support app offers easy to read and understand information about their condition based on the wide range of patient versions of its guidelines. Patient versions of guidelines are booklets that ‘translate’ guideline recommendations and their rationales originally produced for health professionals into a form that is more easily understood and used by patients and the public. The app also offers access to additional interactive features that may not be available in booklet versions.
