Welcome to the Warwick Ethnic Minorities in Physics Network page. My name is Folusho Balogun and I am the current ethnic minority rep for the physics PG-SSLC (postgraduate student-staff liason committee).
What is the Warwick Ethnic Minorities in Physics Network Network?
Generally, university can be a very isolating experience for ethnic minority students which can affect us not just mentally, but also academically too. As suggested by the recent NUS reportLink opens in a new window, I have created this page to help combat this. You can use this page to see what is happening around the university for ethnic minority postgrad students.
What is the aim of this network?
The goal of the Warwick Ethnic Minorities in Physics Network (WENP) is to work towards a more diverse workforce in physics at the postgraduate level and above. To achieve this, we aim to create a more inclusive environment for ethnic minorities, to raise awareness of the different initiatives and opportunities the university has to offer regarding equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to support the creation of new opportunities and events.
We run fortnightly coffee afternoons where people in the network have the chance to socialise (networking and meeting and reconnecting face-to-face with people across the department)and share ideas and experiences. The network also holds other events, please see our new events pageLink opens in a new window !
