Timetable
The department believes that a well-structured timetable is an important component of its teaching provision. We therefore
- Ensure that there are no clashes between lectures on core or the main optional components of our degree programmes;
- Plan for student workloads which are evenly distributed throughout the first twenty weeks;
- Plan for a reasonable spread of the load throughout the week.
Compromises are necessary between ensuring a wide range of optionality for all students and optimising the timetable for groups or individual students. We cannot protect against clashes between unusual options.
Some modules have optional support classes and seminars, which it may not be possible to ensure do not clash with other components.
