Nick Walkden (CCFE, Culham): Overview and current operational status of MAST-Upgrade

- Export as iCalendar
Location: PS128

Abstract: The spherical tokamak represents a pathway towards a more economic commercial fusion reactor. In 2013 the UK's spherical tokamak, MAST, ran its final experimental campaign. Since then the machine has undergone a significant upgrade, resulting in 90% of the total load assembly being newly built, and over 130,000 new in-vessel components. In this talk I will overview the objectives of MAST-Upgrade and provide a comprehensive update on its operational status and future timeline.
