Scientific meeting proposals - Royal Society deadline

Export as iCalendar

Primary funder name: Royal Society

Closing date: 01 Oct 20

Full text: The Royal Society invites proposals for its scientific meetings. This supports the organisation of scientific meetings in any field. There are four types of meetings: •science+ meetings, to be held at the Royal Society, London, bringing together pure science and an element formed from areas that build on, or function alongside science, such as policy or public health; •fast-track discussion meetings, held in London, enabling scientists to respond to the rapidly changing developments in their fields in a timely manner; •discussion meetings, held at the Royal Society, London or a suitable alternative UK venue, for audiences of up to 300 covering interdisciplinary subject areas; •Theo Murphy international scientific meetings, held at the Royal Society at Chicheley Hall for audiences of up to 80, allowing for more focused meetings and workshops. Meetings are organised by leaders in the field, using their expertise to ensure key topics are covered. The focus on discussion throughout the meeting should allow everyone, at any stage of their scientific career, to get involved in the conversation. Any UK national or UK-based researcher, with or without co-proposers, may propose a meeting. Meetings last for two days. Successful applicants receive support for the promotion of their meeting, logistical support, materials for the meeting and full onsite support, contributions to travel and expenses for organisers, speakers and chairs, as well as a venue, facilities and catering.
